Non-Hazardous Wastewater From Off-Site Generators
NewStream is able to accept
non-hazardous wastewater (see definitions below) via truck or rail car. We
handle treatment and discharge, as well as sludge disposal. The facility's
convenient location (off of I-95, less than 25 miles from both Boston and
Providence , RI) and accessibility make NewStream an ideal choice.
What is Non-Hazardous Wastewater?
Examples
Non-hazardous wastewater is defined as groundwater, construction/highway project
water, industrial process water, or other wastewater that
• Does not exhibit any hazardous characteristics: Ignitability, Corrosivity,
Reactivity, and Toxicity. Hazardous characteristics are explained in
Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MA DEP) regulation 310 CMR
30.122 – 30.125. (PDF, Pg. 63)
• Is not listed as “hazardous” under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Hazardous wastes are listed in MA DEP 310 CMR 30.130. (PDF, Pg. 66)
• Is classified as exempt in 310 CMR 30, as defined in MA DEP 310 CMR 30.104. (PDF, Pg. 50)
Important Notes
• Loads less than 1,000 gals may be subject to an additional handling fee
• NewStream does not handle septage. Any load containing septage will be rejected, without exception.
