Sam Butterfield, CEO

 

Sam Butterfield is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of NewStream, LLC. He is also founder and President of Butterfield Environmental Corporation (BEC) in Plymouth, a leader in environmental wastewater treatment services for the past 17 years.

 

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Science degree, he was a Senior Project Manager with a civil engineering firm before founding Butterfield Environmental Corporation.

Michael C. Spoor, President (ext.306)

 

Michael Spoor joined NewStream as Acting President in August 2007, and became president in April 2008.  He is now overseeing all aspects of daily operations, financial management, and business development.

 

Mike brings extensive business development and management experience to his position. He had spent nearly 10 years fully engaged in the development, growth and management of Windward Petroleum, a wholesale distribution and marketing company that he helped found in 1998.  Today, Windward has annual revenues of $275M, employs 430 people, and operates 18 distribution centers from Oklahoma to Maine. 

 

Previously, Mike spent seven years at Exxon Co., USA, and also worked internationally in Australia for Camp Scott Furphy Pty Ltd, a multinational environmental consulting firm.

 

Mike received a degree in Civil Engineering with highest honors from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. 

John Theriault, Vice President (ext.307)

John Theriault is co-founder and Vice President of NewStream, LLC.

He handles all Water Treatment Plant Projects, Equipment Management, Facilities Management projects, and is plant operator supervisor.

Josh Hanlon, Technical Director (ext.310)

In January 2008, Josh Hanlon joined the NewStream team as Technical Director. Josh is a shareholder in the company, and has been involved in an advisory role since it was founded, but until now his primary duties have been with NewStream’s partner company Butterfield Environmental Corp (BEC). Josh joined BEC in 2001, and has been instrumental in the steady growth of that company since. He has worked intimately with customers throughout the Northeast, designing complete wastewater treatment systems and upgrades to existing systems, optimizing treatment programs, and providing technical service.

Josh is responsible for qualifying waste streams and designing optimum treatment programs for each stream. He is also accountable for quality control for each stage of NewStream’s process; from the acceptance of incoming loads through the discharge of effluent. He heads up research and development efforts, with the goal of continual optimization of the plant’s processes and equipment.

Jessie B. Hanlon, Marketing Director

 

Jessie is the former Director of Consulting Services for a consulting firm based in Sagamore Beach, MA. Prior to that five-year tenure, she was employed at Butterfield Environmental in Plymouth, MA in the environmental services division. Hanlon came on board at NewStream after company President Sam Butterfield and other equity partners (including Hanlon) took over the former Texas Instrument plant in March 2005.

 

She is a 1998 graduate of University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a BS in Environmental Science.

Lauren Cote, Office Manager (ext.300)

Lauren joined NewStream in May 2007. She is building and maintaining a digital, central filing system, expediting paper flow, maintaining the NewStream web site, and managing administrative functions in human resources, office technology, and inside sales support.

She has a business degree with over 20 years of experience in the areas of business administration and support, customer service, and internet marketing.
