Lauren Cote Named Office Manager

In May 2007, Lauren Cote joined the NewStream team.  By now, you have likely spoken with Lauren on the phone, and may have met her in person as she greets callers and visitors.  In her role as Office Manager, Lauren has taken on a host of responsibilities that include customer service, building and maintaining a central filing system, orchestrating paper flow, and even maintaining NewStream’s web site. 

“In many ways, we didn’t realize how much we needed Lauren until we found her,” says Sam Butterfield, President.  “She’s already helped out tremendously in areas like communication with customers, managing paper flow, and generally making sure things get done!” 

Having run her own small business for several years, Lauren is adept at multi-tasking, and her no-nonsense approach to getting the job done is just what NewStream’s busy office needs to keep everything moving and make sure our customers’ needs are met.  Lauren’s background also includes extensive experience in office administration with small to medium sized businesses. 

Lauren is a graduate of Attleboro High School, as well as Rhode Island Community College, where she obtained an Associates Degree in Business Administration. 

When asked why she chose to accept the position with NewStream, Lauren replied, “I find it gratifying to work for a company which has a positive impact on my family's environment. As the newest employee, it became quickly apparent how the NewStream staff combines their knowledge, expertise, and commitment to a job well done. I'm proud to be part of the team.”

Re-Certification of Waste Streams Continues

A letter recently went out to all of our valued customers explaining the re-certification process that is currently underway at NewStream.  We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their cooperation in this process. 

As we said in the letter, we are currently implementing a new electronic filing system to better manage the documentation associated with each waste stream.  In order to ensure that all documentation is up to date, it is necessary to re-certify all active waste streams.  We’ve asked all customers to complete updated waste profile forms for all active waste streams and submit them to Lauren Cote, our new Office Manager, as soon as possible.

A Few More Notes on the Acceptance Process:

    In order for us to ensure that our acceptance process is quick and thorough, it is critical for us to have the generator’s signature on each waste profile form.  This is for compliance reasons only.  We recognize that you are our customer, and the generator is your customer.  Under no circumstances will we by-pass you to try and get the generator’s business directly.

    We now have one-gallon sample containers available for your convenience.  The containers have NewStream labels on them, with space for sample descriptions, contact information, etc.  Using these containers will ensure that we have sufficient sample volume to work with when performing treatability testing on new waste streams, and will therefore speed the acceptance process.  These free containers can either be picked up at NewStream or shipped to you directly.

 NewStream Gets Top Grade from D & B

 Dunn & Bradstreet (D & B), the world’s leading source of business information, recently gave NewStream a rating of 96%.  D & B rates companies with others in the same or similar industries, and assigns a rating based on payment history in the previous 12 months.  NewStream was compared with 2,561 other firms in the SIC code 8748, and of those only 4% had payment histories that were the same or better than NewStream’s. 

Receiving this high rating is a success for us because it speaks to our overall credibility.   Our goal at NewStream is to make it easy for both our vendors and our customers to do business with us.  With this in mind, we are always looking for feedback from you!  Please do not hesitate to share with us if there is anything we can do to improve our business relationship with you.
